Fails tube | My fishing buddy and I arrived about an hour after the swamping had occured. From what I heard at the scene from onlookers and those waiting to access the ramp for their own use, the owner of the SUV, boat and trailer got out and went to rear of the vehicle to put his boat cover into the opened rear hatch and apparently forgot to apply the parking/emergency brake and the combined weight of the rig just plain overwhelmed the SUV’s park gear. Anyway, his SUV just suddenly started to skid down the ramp too fast for him to escape to safety, knocking him down and running over his ankles and dragging him into the water. He remained conscious through the whole ordeal and was apparently joking with Marina staff and First responders before being transported to the Elliot Lake Hospital, which is about 25 miles away. I felt bad enough for the dude but I can’t imagine how his fishing buddy felt watching this happen helplessly from inside the | Video tube
